The approval mark decides road legality
A headlamp needs the mark your market recognises, moulded into the lens. We check it is there and that the paperwork names the part, because a lamp without it is an off-road part whatever the listing says.

Vehicle lighting is regulated on the beam pattern, not on the brightness. A lamp that is brighter and scatters light is less legal, not more.
It is also the most common place for a part to be perfectly usable off-road and not road legal, so the first question is where the vehicle will be driven.

An LED bulb dropped into a housing designed for a filament produces a beam pattern that is not approved in most markets. We tell you when that is what you are buying.
Condensation inside a lamp is the most common warranty complaint in this category and it comes from the housing seal and the vent. We ask for the rating and check the gasket on sampled units.
Listed lumen figures are usually the raw emitter output, not the lamp output. We treat them as claims, and where it matters we ask for a test report.
Plug type, polarity and whether a CANbus resistor is included decide whether the lamp works without dashboard errors. It is rarely in the listing.
Polycarbonate with a proper hard coat survives; uncoated acrylic yellows within a season in strong sun. We ask which it is.
